In Praise of Shadows Interaction

Using an excerpt from Jun'ichirō Tanizaki’s 1933 book “In Praise of Shadows”, I made a web storytelling experience that allows users to read his work through a series of interactions. The overall design of the website and the styles of interactions were heavily inspired by the concept of dichotomy between light and dark, which was a prominent theme in the text. The interactions not only serves as engaging tools for users to navigate the website, it also highlights the motifs and literary concepts of Tanizaki’s work.
